Compact walk-in baths for a relaxing soak in small bathrooms

Not every bathroom has the space for a full-length or a mid-length bath. This is where a compact model comes in. This walk-in bath range is the smallest, made to fit where a standard bath won’t go, so you’re able to enjoy a proper seated soak, even in a small or awkward room. With a low step instead of a high bath side, and a built-in seat, getting in and out is easier and safer than a traditional bath too.

Both fit where a standard bath will not, both have a built-in seat, and both cost the same. What sets them apart is the door, the step and how much water you sit in.

Why choose a compact walk-in bath?

Choosing a compact walk-in bath for your home brings with it real, practical advantages. Here are some of the main reasons why our customers decide to go with these models.

Uses less water than a full-length bath

Due to its smaller size, a compact walk-in bath needs less water to fill, so it’s a lot gentler on your hot water supply and cheaper to use.

Leaves space for the rest of your bathroom

The small footprint doesn’t squeeze into a tight space; it ultimately frees up the floor around for other possibilities like a new basin, storage, easier turning room for wheelchair users, or maybe a separate space for a walk-in shower.

You keep your bath, instead of losing it to a replacement shower

When a bathroom is small or space is tight, the usual advice is to take out the bath and fit a shower. A compact walk-in bath means you don’t have to give up a proper soak to save space, and a shower could still be added!

Who a compact walk-in bath is best for

During our time supporting people and their bathing, we’ve come to find that compact walk-in baths suit situations much more than others. If any of the following are familiar to you, it is certainly an option you should explore further!

You've been told a bath won't fit your bathroom

Smaller bathrooms and en-suites often can’t take a standard-size bath. A compact one is the answer when you’re struggling to figure out what will work.

A full-length bath has become hard to use

If stepping over a high bath side has started to become difficult, and even risky, or getting back up is harder than it used to be. A compact walk-in bath is made for this.

You're adding a bath to a spare or family bathroom in the home

It is a good fit for a second bathroom, en-suite or downstairs room, without taking over the main bathroom that others in the home you love may use.

You're helping a relative bathe safely at home

You may be looking to arrange things for a parent or someone you care for in a smaller home. A compact walk-in bath helps keep things less complicated and that person bathing the way they want to, for longer.

Our compact walk-in baths are built for safety and comfort

They may be the smallest bath models in the range but that doesn’t mean they have less features. Everything that keeps you safe and comfortable is built into every compact walk-in bath, not an extra.

Low-threshold entry

A low step and wide door remove the need to climb over a high bath side.

Tailored seating

Choose a fixed seat for upright support, or a powered seat that gently lowers and raises you.

Enhanced safety

Slip-resistant floors and thermostatic taps come as standard, holding a safe, steady temperature.

Wheelchair access

Some walk-in bath models sit at the right height for a side transfer straight from a wheelchair.

Integrated support

Slip-resistant grab rails are placed where you need them for extra steadiness.

Easy-access controls

Simple lever taps and easy waste controls suit hands with limited grip or strength.

Our most asked questions about compact walk-in baths

Here are some of the questions our team are asked about compact walk-in baths. If yours isn’t answered below, don’t worry; we’ll happily talk you through any question you may have. Call us on 0800 999 8994.

Yes, much more comfortable than you’d think. A compact walk-in bath is made for sitting down rather than lying stretched out. Your height matters far less than in a traditional bath. It is a different way to bathe, but most people find that sitting in deep water is just as relaxing. During a free home visit, our team will check and make sure it suits you and your needs.

Yes, like any walk-in bath, you must step in and sit down before it fills and you wait for the water to drain away before you open the door to get out. The good news here is that a compact walk-in bath holds less water, so it will fill and empty much quicker, resulting in only a short wait. All of our baths are provided with thermostatic taps which keep the water at a steady temperature so it is comfortable throughout the process.

In normal use, no. Both the Florida and the Vermont have a lifetime leak-free seal. The door stays sealed while you bathe, and with that guarantee, it isn’t something you’ll need to worry about. If you do have a concern, our team can talk you through any issues and provide a solution.

Yes. Both the Florida and Vermont come with BioCote antimicrobial protection built into the surface. This reduces bacteria and helps keep the bath clean. Surfaces are smooth and non-porous with very few awkward corners; a quick wipe with a regular bathroom cleaner keeps things fresh. After installation, our fitting team will leave a guide on how to clean your new bathroom for further information.

If you require a straightforward swap, compact walk-in bath in, old bath out, our team can do this installation in a single day. If there’s more work to do, such as moving pipework, it may take longer. We will always tell you how long the installation will be before we start any work. Our fitters take care of your home as they go, and will take your old bath away, leaving everything tidy and clean.

Yes, as a compact bath takes up very little floor space, this usually leaves room beside it for someone to stand and help if required. With a low step and built-in seat, it makes it easier to lend a hand getting in and out. The door on the Florida is also an asset, as it opens inwards, so there is no blocker when approaching the bath. On a free home visit we’ll make sure to plan the layout of your bathroom in line with how you or a loved one needs support.

Definitely. A compact walk-in bath is a proper bath that anyone in the home you love can use, not just those who need it for accessibility reasons. Everyone gets in the same way, and goes through the same process of filling it up and draining the water away. All of our models are designed to look modern and stylish to make sure they seamlessly fit into a bathroom.

Various optional extras are available on both of our compact walk-in baths. Depending on the model, you can add an Air Spa for gentle hydrotherapy bubbles, a Bluetooth sound system, upgraded brassware, and a shower screen. Added extras are priced separately from the bath, so you only pay for any you decide to choose. They are listed clearly in your quote. The installation of your bath and any added extras are included in the price you see on our website per bath.
