The Louisiana walk-in bath
The Louisiana is a full-length walk-in bath and shower in one. Its wider, P-shaped design gives you generous room to shower standing up as well as enjoy a deep, full-length soak. You step in through a wide, curved glass door over a low step, instead of climbing over a high bath side, and slip-resistant surfaces help you feel steady. If you’d like a little help getting in, an optional powered seat can lower you gently into the water and lift you back out.

Louisiana walk-in bath specifications
From £7,500, the Louisiana fully installed
Every Louisiana is fitted around you, so the final price depends on the length you choose and any extras you add, such as the powered seat or a shower screen. Prices start from £7,500, fully installed, with nothing hidden and no surprises.
If you’re eligible for VAT exemption, you will be VAT exempt on your new bathroom, so you won’t pay the 20% VAT, and we’ll guide you through that process. Flexible finance is also available, and it’s completely optional.
Is the Louisiana walk-in bath right for you?
The Louisiana is built for versatility, giving you a full-length soak and room to shower, all through one low, easy step-in door. It suits you best if you’d like the choice of bathing or showering, a bit more space to move, and the option of a powered seat if getting in has started to become harder.
Shower and soak in one
The P-shaped design gives you room to shower standing up and a full-length bath to lie back in, so you can choose either.
Room for the whole household
The wider P-shaped design gives you generous room to move, and it still works as an everyday bath the whole family can enjoy.
Help getting in, if you need it
Add the optional powered seat and it lowers you gently into the water, then lifts you back out when you’re done.
How the Louisiana compares, and when another bath suits better
The Louisiana’s big advantage is bathing choice: a full-length soak and room to shower, in one wider bath.
Which full-length walk-in bath model suits you best comes down to how much space you have, and how much help you’d like getting in and out. You can use the table below to compare!
The Montana
Better if you’d like a full-length soak in a slimmer bath that fits a tighter space.
The Easy Riser
Better if you’d like a powered seat that reclines you back, then lifts you back out.
The Omega
Better if a door and step are too much. The Omega has no door, and a powered chair lowers you in and lifts you out.

Common questions we get about the Louisiana
Is the Louisiana easy to get in and out of?
Yes, far easier than a standard bath. You step in through a wide, curved glass door over a low 182mm threshold, instead of climbing over a high bath side, and slip-resistant surfaces help you feel steady. If lowering yourself down is hard, you can add the optional powered seat, which lowers you gently into the water and lifts you back out.
Can I shower as well as bathe in the Louisiana?
Yes. The Louisiana has a P-shaped design that opens out to give you room to shower standing up, as well as a full-length bath to soak in. You can add a rounded glass shower screen to keep the rest of the bathroom dry, so it works as a bath and a shower in one.
Is the Louisiana walk-in bath a popular choice?
Yes, it’s one of our most popular walk-in baths. Most people choose it for the bath and shower in one, plus the extra room to move that its wider, P-shaped design gives. Being able to soak or shower in the same space suits a wide range of needs, which is a big part of why so many households pick the Louisiana.
Do you have to sit in the bath while it fills and drains?
Yes. Like any walk-in bath, the door has to be closed before the water goes in, so you sit in the bath while it fills, and again while it drains. We recommend thermostatic taps, which hold the water at the temperature you set, so it fills to a steady, comfortable warmth with no surprises.
Will the Louisiana fit where my current bath is?
The Louisiana is wider than a standard bath, at 1000mm across, because of its roomy P-shaped design, so it usually needs a little more space than the bath you have now. It comes in 1500mm or 1700mm lengths. Every bathroom is different, so we measure yours during your free home visit and confirm the best fit before any work begins.
How much does the Louisiana cost?
The Louisiana starts from £7,500, fully installed, with the final price depending on the length you choose and any extras you add, such as the powered seat or a shower screen. If you’re eligible for VAT exemption, you will be VAT exempt on your new walk-in bath, so you won’t pay the 20% VAT, and we can help you with this process. You’ll always get a clear, full price at your free home visit, with nothing hidden.
How long does the installation take?
Most of our full bathroom installations are fitted in three to five days. If you’re looking for a straight swap of your old bath for a new walk-in bath, this can be done in a single day. Our own employed, DBS-checked team always does the work; no subcontractors are used. At the end, we tidy up fully and take your old bathtub away.
