Peter's new accessible wet room and bath

Peter wanted a safer bathroom without giving up his bath, and he didn’t have to. We took out an old cupboard to fit both a walk-in wet room shower and a brand new bath, with grab rails and a slip-resistant floor.

The story

The best of both: a wet room and a bath

The challenge

Tight on space and getting hard to use every day

Peter’s bathroom hadn’t changed in years. It was cramped and dated, and the only way to shower was to climb over the side of the bath, which was getting harder to manage. He wanted something much easier to use, but he wasn’t ready to give up his bath at the same time.

Our solution

We took out a cupboard to make room for both

The room simply needed more space. By taking out an old cupboard, we opened it up enough to fit both a level access walk-in shower (full wet room) and a brand new bath. A slip-resistant floor, grab rails and a handheld shower make washing safer day to day, while the bath is there whenever Peter fancies a proper, relaxing soak.

The result

Brighter, safer, and with room to move

We finished the room in bright marble-effect panels with a warm navy floor, and added a new toilet, basin, heated towel rail and a tall storage cupboard. The result is a calm, practical wet room and bath that feels far bigger than before.
