A bathroom built around Malcom

The challenge

A bath he could no longer rely on

Malcom’s bathroom was no longer suited to his needs. The only way to shower was to step over the side of the bath, and even with a grab rail already on the wall, it was becoming harder to manage. He wanted a room that would be safer and help him regain his independence, not only for now, but for the future as well.

Our solution

A level shower and a smart toilet

We took the old bath out and created a wet room with a level-access showering area in its place, with a thermostatic shower that keeps the water at a steady temperature and grab rails exactly where Malcom needs them. The team also fitted an IMEX Essence smart toilet with a built-in wash and dry, so Malcom can manage his personal care on his own terms. The room has slip-resistant safety flooring throughout.

The result

Independence he can count on

Malcom can now walk straight into the showering area, with support close at hand and nothing to step over. Everything in the room is set up around what he needs, so his daily routine feels easier and much more comfortable.

All of our customers can choose their own flooring and wall panels for their new accessible bathroom. Malcom picked a warm cream marble-effect wall with a soft beige safety floor.
