The story

How Room 1 was brought up to standard

The challenge

A room working against the people using it

Room 1 was cluttered and clinical, with equipment taking up most of the floor space. There was little room to move, and even less for a carer to help safely.

Our solution

Clear space, easy to clean

We stripped the room back and fitted full-height wall panels, a secure shower chair with half-height carer doors, new safety grab rails and a hygienic non-slip floor. Lighting and ventilation were upgraded at the same time, so the room is brighter and dries out properly between uses.

The result

Better for residents, and for staff

Room 1 is now a calm, practical wet room that is straightforward for residents to use and simple for staff to keep clean. The first of three rooms we refurbished at Horsfall House.
